INTERPOLATION

By tradition, the year’s best young architectural bureau is granted the right to realize an installation that reflects the studio's philosophy, approaches, and working principles. This is a special project by the winner of the previous NEXT section at ARCH MOSCOW.

The INTERPOLATION pavilion is dedicated to the multi-layered nature of the urban environment and the boundlessness of architectural thought.

The city is multilayered; we observe varying scales and interconnected levels: urban structure, micro-districts, blocks, houses, envelopes, and interiors. Within this, architecture takes its place between the conditions of the urban fabric and human ergonomics.

Working at an architectural scale, we constantly zoom in and out of our interaction with the city’s layers. By distancing ourselves and then drawing closer, we perceive different levels of urgency in problems and new sets of opportunities.

The interior volume of the cube itself interprets the spatial unit of the urban fabric in which the architect works. Its content represents multi-layered and multi-scale architectural thought, which always transcends its boundaries and reaches toward the horizon.
