ROTONDA 50³

Exhibition space for the year's main architectural award! The Moscow City Award for Architecture and Urban Planning, supported by Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.

Every year, the award features capital construction projects that received Architectural and Urban Planning Solution (AGR) approval during the previous year. The award ceremony takes place in the courtyard of the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture. Our task was to design a pavilion to organize the exhibition space for 50 works of the Moscow Architectural Award in the museum courtyard. The exhibition is installed for one evening only.

Our project, "ROTONDA 50³", defines the exhibition space for the fifty works of the Moscow Architectural Award and serves as the event's main sculpture. The installation possesses distinct architectural qualities: integrity, structural clarity, and monolithicity. To further unify the concept, we have moved away from traditional renders; instead, each project is represented by a hand-drawn sketch by the architect of the nominated building. The exterior of the rotunda is dedicated to the exhibition of projects, while its interior transforms the press wall into a "press space."
